There is more to violence than physical beating
Violence can begin with words, with humiliation, insults, control and isolation...
It is no woman’s fault when her husband or partner acts violently. He alone has to take responsibility for his violent behaviour. Worldwide, one of every three woman is affected. No woman has to feel ashamed because she has experienced violence. There are no reasons justifying violence against women. Children witnessing abusive behaviour against their mothers are abused children. Physical and sexual violence is illegal even if the violator is a member of the family or a partner.
Violence against women is not a private affair.
Remaining silent only protects the abuser.
